The SKINSecurity Series

Hey Guys!

So I must admit, the support on my last blog post was overwhelmingly positive and for that I am BEYOND grateful. As a matter of fact, I think the private messages over the past week have provided the fuel I needed. Knowing I am able to make an impact, however small, reassures me  that I made the right decision in keeping the page open and sharing with you guys! (ICYMI, here's the post I'm making reference to: https://www.rushcamstyle.com/blog-style/2017/10/28/up-close-struggling-with-sickness-insecurity-adulting-change-im-back-btw)

Also, my regular posting day will be WEDNESDAYS (-basks in order, structure and scheduling-) so you have something in the middle of the week to look forward to! On special occasions I may deviate and do a few more posts per week but for now, on Wednesdays we read RushCam's blog!

Anyway, I'm very excited to announce that I will be doing a series called "The SkinSecurity Series" which focuses on sharing stories about skin care hurdles, finding solutions to some of the issues you may face and equipping you with the tools you need going forward (-cough GIVEAWAY cough-)

Before I get into more of that, let's break down 'SkinSecurity'

Skin: the thin layer of tissue forming the natural outer covering of the body of a person.

Securitythe state of feeling safe, stable, and free from fear or anxiety.

Insecurityuncertainty or anxiety about oneself; lack of confidence.

There are two meanings coming from this oh so simple heading: one is the insecurity you feel because of the skin you are in 'sk(insecurity)' and the other is the confidence and security you feel despite the skin you are in 'skin-security'.

Why this Series? What Will It Entail?

I've always toyed with the idea of doing a series on skin-care in which we share our stories and I partner with a few stores/brands to do a give away here and there but I was never COMPELLED UNTIL I had a very strange experience (my friends will tell you I was overreacting af).

Maybe 2-3 weeks ago I woke up with a different face and I mean bumps EVERYWHERE, especially on my forehead! This confident guy who had his skin under control now turned into an insecure little twat who would research skin-care threads on twitter to find the miracle! *Special shout out to the people who swear by African Black Soap, it was an African Black NOPE for me*  That's when I realized I could share my stories, I could provide a platform for people to share their stories and how they overcame it and I could do some OPRAH-ing (-queues YOU GEDDA MOISTURIZER!).

So here's how you come in! I WANT YOUR STORIES! I want to hear from you! I want to know about your skin care regime! If you had bad acne and found the holy grail for oily skin, tell us! If you have a little trick to zap a pimple over night, tell us! If you have eczema and you know the perfect product, tell us! Maybe you have a question, ASK IT! This platform will be transformed into a community of help!  But also, share your stories of CONFIDENCE and SECURITY and let us know what it truly means to be skin-secure and not sk(insecure). I will do main features each week and smaller features and each week will end with a GIVEAWAY :) Contact me in one of the following ways:
