EVERYDAY WE STRUGGLE! Getting out of bed. Finishing work for clients. Choosing what to eat for lunch? Yes! This month my struggle was striking the balance between simplicity and edge. I find my style to be very classic and simple but one day I wanted to look more than “simple neat” and add some edge to it. So, I came up with an idea on how I would achieve simplicity with edge in three simple steps:

1.       Start with a Simple Canvas

If we’re stepping out of our comfort zone, we have to start within our comfort zone then take small steps out! Example: In this outfit, I know all black as a colour scheme would be comfortable for me, so, I started with the black t-shirt and black ripped jeans. THEN the risks started!

2.       Accessorize the Risk

This is where you bring in the risks, with the accessories/additional pieces of clothing. One by one, try different stuff which you wouldn’t usually do! The jacket/coat was a HUGE risk for me because I really hate it because it’s so old and frumpy but I did it! It was also a risk for me to wear the coat in Jamaica where it’s hot and we don’t dress like that! The risk could be for any reason!

3.       Ask NO ONE about it

Try your best to figure it out and wear it! Your risk! It will feel better!

I really enjoyed putting together this simple but effective outfit for the simple reason that it gave me the edge I was looking for! Being at Law School I felt like I lost that risk factor and I'm glad I found it back! Here are some more photos of the look! ENJOY!
